§2 Goldman–Hodgkin–Katz Equation — Resting Membrane Potential

V = (RT/F) · ln((PK[K]o + PNa[Na]o + PCl[Cl]i) / (PK[K]i + PNa[Na]i + PCl[Cl]o))

The GHK equation expresses the membrane potential as a concentration function weighted by ion permeabilities. When only one ion is permeable, GHK reduces to the corresponding Nernst equation — a key test for validating the model.
