Self Introduction Pre

Hi, i am Noah. You might already had an impression on me because of my Chinese name,which is Noah’s Ark in the opposite direction. My parents must have read the article claiming that a cool name makes a cool kid. Well that is not true, ’cause i hardly felt cool growing up.

I mean, i came from JiangXi, which is a place where we greet the travelers with “Why”, like why here, I don’t know anything cool you can do here,beats me. And you can only imagine how things are like in my tiny town. so i simply binge watching movies in my leisure time, which made me feel cool in a comforting way, you know ,being the kid who is obsessed with indie movies , gave me a pretentious feeling that i am slightly cooler than my small town friends.

After a lot of things, i had to learn that it is not riding the high horse makes you cool, but something else. And i will reveal those things while i introduce possibly the coolest indie movie company to you, whose name appeared at the title, A24.

First, communication is cool. the movie C’mon C’mon tells a story of a man re-communicate with his sister by spending time with her son. We are born to communicate and sometimes we forgot to do that or did that in the wrong way. You have watched films telling you to love,to express,but only A24 told you to actually communicate by communicating with you, not teaching or urging.

What’s more,honesty and sincerity make you cool. At this point of my life,i can tell whether people are being sincere or not at a certain degree. I understand it is important to be polite,but true kindness comes from within, being honest is better than being hypocritical. Just like in The Lobster, in which rigid marriage was being mocked nakedly, but knowing the hardship and disgrace in relationships, i can treat my relationships more cozily. No disguised articles or romantic novels make me feel that way.

Lastly,if you wanna be cool , be passionate and empathetic. A24 was founded by three white guys in New York, Lady Bird was the story of a high school girl living in California.Why am i related ? ’Cause like other A24 movies, it choose to communicate with others,instead of teaching or urging,it has genuine emotions, painfully honest but take root in true kindness.It resonates with us by telling its own story . And that is exactly what we do in our life.We take our path,we write our stories and hear other people’s.We make differences and we are affected.we laugh, we cry, those moments considered mediocre by other movie companies are reflected by A24, because it is passionate and empathetic about those moments,even though they do not have a highlight.

In the world,as a whole,we did terrible things.But individually, we are just one story after another. History, from the famous author Michael Ondaatje’s view, is each tiniest person’s splash in the flood. When everyone is focusing on the flood, A24 documents the splash. To be a cool company in the capitalism world is just like to be a cool person in this endless mess, write your own moving story, pass on other people’s, with sincerity and kindness, with passion and empathy.
